Poetry and Sketching Workshop, part of Mother Tongue Festival
On the 11th of May, we will share space with some amazing poets and painters, part of Mother Tonge Festival in Ireland.
Poets will create an inspiring atmosphere of words, sounds, and emotions, which will be translated by visual artists into a world of colours, signs, sketches, strokes, and impulses to capture in that special performing time the sensitive veils of the poet's soul!

Culture Bridge and Sheba Arts are offering a series of weekly workshops
for women from migrant communities in Stockport and the surrounding area.
If you are over 18 years old, have experienced forced migration or seeking
asylum and are interested in arts & sharing experience and skills, this project
is for you.
During 16 workshops, we will explore different subjects utilising storytelling,
writing, arts & craft, and cooking. This project will create a safe, and
supportive space for participants to share skills and experiences and to
develop positive attitudes towards change.
You can apply for data expenses if you have no income/ are on a low

Reclaim the Stage
For the past four months, RAPAR Drama, one of our associate groups, have been collaborating with Kahlo Theatre to work with community groups in Hulme and Bury. Through online workshops, discussions and writing the groups have devised original audio plays inspired by there experiences of the pandemic.
Voices of Lockdown - Bury Community
Maria has always been a loud neighbour but now its lockdown and with tensions running high, Sally and Sharon can't take it anymore. Once locked up in their separate houses all three begin to reflect on the things they have lost. The play explores the idea that only by missing something can we know its value. Both plays will be available to stream online from Saturday 27th February |
In the Morning We Are Free - Hulme Community
The end of lockdown has been announced, tomorrow the country is free. Paul, Charlotte and John lie awake in their separate homes. Their minds are racing. They feel as though they are hurtling towards dawn and aren't sure if they are ready for the day. |
We're offering a series of free online workshops for artists and those who are interested in becoming a community arts worker. These workshops are open to individuals from diverse backgrounds who want to learn more about writing proposals and funding applications, creating digital content for social media, live streaming, community engagement, and project management. There are the 3 workshops planned for this year, and more will be coming in 2021:

This piece has been inspired by Freshet's first solo show 'One More Push' which was an autobiographical piece. Bring Me the Mountain is the story of an ethnic woman who is struggling with mental health while trying to find her feet and go back to work.

Dance Away the Spiders
This piece explores repression, resistance, trauma and immigration from the perspectives of a group of young refugee women. This performance is a celebration of the participants’ home nations and different cultures. Using visual art, textile art, dance and movement, Dance Away The Spiders creates a liberating performance for both participants and audience members.
