In 2022, we launched Sheba Salon to offer a space for like-minded creatives to connect with each other and share their work. This has since evolved into a dynamic programme of networking activities, enabling artists to come together and learn from each other, mingle, and be inspired. Our first Sheba Salon saw sharings from Maryam Alsaeid and Sally Hilton.
We have held a number of cultural outings and networking events since our first salon to engage our artist communities with Manchester's cultural scene. The aim of this is for our communities to learn more about opportunities, performance and exhibition spaces, and ways to become involved with other artists, many of whom are part of Sheba Arts' community already.
This has included trips to:
Castlefield Gallery to see 'The Poetics of Water' (Parham Ghalamdar & Jessica El Mal)
HOME Theatre & Cinema to see Heroic Bodies by Sara Suliman as part of SAFAR Film Festival; Dual دوگانه by Peyvand Sadeghian; and Penguin by Hamzeh Al Hussien.
Amang Mardokhy's art studio in Hazel Grove.
These visits are curated to reflect Sheba Arts' values, vision, and audiences, as well as to spotlight art which explores migration and the refugee experience.

Sheba Salon 2022
This event happened on 9th September 2022 at Cross Street Chapel, Manchester (M2 1NL). Our first Sheba Salon was a friendly and welcoming event which involved practitioners and artists from across the North. We brought together creative forces from a range of backgrounds to share ideas and plan ambitious arts. We welcomed artists from any background, across a range of different art forms, and at any stage of their career. We offered 10-minute slots to talk to our Producer one-to-one about practice and projects, as well as welcoming artists to perform and showcase their work throughout the event.
