Talent Development Programme

We champion co-creation, care, and opportunity.

Through our talent development programmes, we support emerging artists and community practitioners to develop their skills, grow their ideas, and create work that reflects their stories and the communities they come from. We value teamwork and collaborative learning, and we take pride in empowering individuals to create and shape their own work. This is how we support emerging talent and strengthen our communities, by opening access to the arts and community sector and ensuring people have the tools, confidence, and support they need to thrive.
Artists in Residence

Nurturing creativity, storytelling, and professional growth.

Our Artist in Residence programme supports emerging artists to produce and present new work within a supportive, caring, and collaborative environment. We champion creativity rooted in lived experience, cultural heritage, and community connection.

Through peer-to-peer mentoring, hands-on production support, and space to experiment, artists develop their practice with confidence.
Many of our past residents have continued to develop their practice, share their work with wider audiences, and build sustainable careers in the arts.

This programme is designed to meet artists where they are, offering tailored guidance, creative exchange, and a platform to share bold, innovative work with audiences.

Trainees

Building skills, leadership, and community-led creativity.

Our Trainee Programme offers training and mentoring for individuals and grassroots groups who want to develop their skills, start new initiatives, or lead community-focused projects. We create an empowering environment where emerging practitioners can grow their abilities, gain hands-on experience, and explore pathways into the creative sector.

Through structured learning, practical workshops, and one-to-one guidance, trainees build confidence in areas such as digital media, outreach, project planning, and community engagement. Many participants have gone on to launch their own projects, secure new roles, or collaborate with Sheba Arts on future programmes.

This strand of our work is about investing in people, supporting them to thrive, lead, and create positive change in their communities.
