This summer we explored these questions together during our sixth festival.
Sheba Festival is our annual festival which is a space for community, celebration, collaboration and joy. This is a place to uplift each other, come together and enjoy beautiful art and performances.

Tuesday 28 May, 11am-2pm: Festival Launch at Kingsleigh Community Centre, WN7 4LR
We were at Kingsleigh Community Centre every Tuesday for creative workshops including collage, poetry and zine making workshops. More information can be found here.
Following the final zine-making workshop, we launched the 6th Sheba Festival with Kurdish music from Dana Ismaili and Azad Saz. The event was free and open to everyone!

Sunday 9 June, 7.30pm: Sheba House Band and Naomi Kalu at BAND ON THE WALL, M4 5JZ
Naomi Kalu, 20, is a two time national and international Champion boxer and singer who plays the guitar, piano, and drums. She has composed original tracks for previous Sheba Festivals, and performed with the Hamza Ensemble at Sheba Fest 22. We have been working with Naomi as our talent development artist in residence since June 2023, supporting her debut album. Naomi has been recording her debut album at Impact Sound Media in Ancoats, Manchester.
With mentoring support from Clive Hunte, Naomi performed a selection of tracks from her debut album at band on the wall on the 9th of June 2024. Our first Sheba House Band has been created to help Naomi perform at her first headline gig.

Wednesday 19 June, 11am-2pm: banner-making workshop and sharing event at Caring and Sharing, Yorkshire St,
Rochdale, OL16 1JU
The third sharing event part of Sheba Festival 2024, was held in Rochdale in partnership with Caring and Sharing! After three sessions of banner making workshops, members of community and artists came together for a celebratory event .
Saturday 22 June, 3-5pm: Haideh & Nejad Celebratory Event at Beacon Centre, Salford, 6 London St. M6 6QT
Our ground-breaking Haideh and Nejad project has united 10 enthusiastic young individuals from Iran, embarking on a journey to explore the rich heritage of Haideh and Nejad. With workshops in full swing, the children are fully immersed in captivating stories, responding with incredible enthusiasm!
On June 22nd, families and friends of the young participants gathered to share skills and celebrate: an afternoon filled with live music and captivating performances at the Beacon Centre in Salford.
