Winter Social & Poetry Sharing

On Saturday 13 December, we hosted a vibrant sharing event at Islington Mill, celebrating our Wigan Outreach Programme and bringing together communities from Wigan and Manchester.

The afternoon marked the culmination of our Creative Writing training programme, giving participants a platform to perform, share their work, and showcase the skills and confidence they developed throughout the course. The space was filled with powerful poetry, new voices, and moments of connection. Writers from the programme shared original work with honesty and imagination, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Poet and facilitator Natasha Tingle led the training and also performed on the day, sharing her own poetry and supporting participants to step forward and be heard.

We’re incredibly grateful to Mahi, Daniele, and Jamie for sharing their work, and to Twiro for a spontaneous performance of new writing.

Live music was a highlight of the afternoon, with a joyful daf performance by Dana Ismaili that brought energy, rhythm, and movement into the room. With refreshments flowing and the creative buzz of the Mill all around, the event was a memorable celebration of growth, creativity, and community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.
