Wigan Garden Project, July 2025
We spent an entire week in July working with the community and volunteers at the SWAP centre, transforming their garden into a beautiful space.
Since  starting our art and well being workshops at the SWAP, our engagement coordinator had noticed the spacious garden area was not used. Inspired by the potential of the space, she suggested turning it into a vibrant community garden. Our team embraced the idea and launched the garden project to bring the garden to life. With the support from the community and SWAP volunteers, we turned our vision to reality.
On the 26th of July, we celebrated this achievement with an unforgettable event, showcasing the incredible creativity and contributions of our community members. From stunning artworks created in our workshops to the flourishing garden itself, the day highlighted the amazing results of our collaboration. The celebration brought together community champions in a joyful display of collective accomplishment.
The event was free, with refreshments and travel expenses provided.
